In a saute pan, over medium heat, cook the ground beef. When done drain and set aside. Add chopped onion to saute pan and cook till tender. Add minced garlic and cook one more minute. Place the beef back into the saute pan with the onions and garlic and stir in the tomato sauce, water, tomato paste, salt, and oregano. Mix thoroughly.
Spread ¼ of this mixture evenly across the bottom of an ungreased 5-quart Crockpot. Arrange 1/3 of lasagna noodles over the meat. Break the noodles to make sure you have full coverage over the meat sauce. Combine the cheeses and mix well. Spreading evenly, spoon 1/3 of the cheese mixture over the noodles. Repeat 2 more layers this way. Top with meat sauce and additional mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
Place lid on crockpot, set temperature to low, and cook for 4-5 hours or until a knife inserted in the middle of the lasagna, slices through effortlessly.
To save even more time on an already easy recipe, brown your ground beef and add your favorite marinara sauce, mix well, and start layering. Any way you choose, this will be a win in the kitchen.
