Southern Ambrosia Fruit Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 - 20 ounce can of pineapple tidbits or chunks (drain and reserve juice)
  • 1 large apple (peeled and chopped)
  • 1 -15 ounce can of fruit cocktail (drained)
  • 2 -15 ounce cans of mandarin oranges (drained)
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup flaked sweetened or unsweetened coconut

Instructions

  • Place your peeled & chopped apple in the reserved pineapple juice and set aside.
  • Combine sour cream and sugar in a large mixing bowl mixing thoroughly,
  • Drain fruit cocktail and mandarin oranges. Very important to drain all fruit well.
  • Drain chopped apple and discard the pineapple juice.
  • Combine all fruits with sour cream and sugar mixture. Gently mix .
  • Add mini marshmallows, pecans, and coconut flakes. Toss all ingredients again lightly and place in the refrigerator for several hours before serving.
