Prep: Preheat oven to 350℉. Grease a 13 x 9 baking dish and set aside. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter and side aside.
Mix Custard: In a large mixing bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugars, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg and salt until smooth and creamy.
Add Cubed Bread: Add the cubed bread to creamy mixture and gently stir making sure to coat bread thoroughy. Let soak for 15-20 minutes allowing bread to absorb custard
Assemble and Bake: Pour the bread mixture into the prepared 13x9 baking dish. Sprinkle any additional ingredients (such as pecans or raisins) evenly over the top. Drizzle the melted butter over the top. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes or until the pudding is golden brown and firm in the center.
Vanilla Sauce
Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 stick of butter. Add the brown sugar and cream. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla.
Serve: Serve warm from the oven with a drizzle of vanilla sauce. Another great option is to serve it with a scoop of ice cream.InsertRetry
